How do I send peptides for testing from the United Kingdom?

IA-Q-071 · logistics · answered September 1, 2026 · research use only

The short answer

The UK is outside the EU customs territory, so a sample to Spain travels with a customs declaration. Use FedEx, UPS or DHL Express with a pro-forma invoice describing the contents accurately as a research chemical sample for laboratory analysis with nominal value. Order first to receive the address, the task reference and the declaration wording. Typical transit is two to four working days plus clearance.

In detail

Since the UK left the EU customs union, every parcel to Spain is an export and an import. Express carriers with their own brokerage clear routinely; the delays come from incomplete or inconsistent paperwork, not from the sample itself.

Declare accurately. A description that does not match the contents is the fastest way to lose a week at customs. Nominal value, one vial, ambient temperature, no cold packs.

Our turnaround target is counted from receipt at the laboratory, so the certificate timing is the same for a UK sample as for an EU one once it has cleared.
