Does a QR code on a vial prove anything?
The short answer
Only if it resolves to the testing laboratory's own domain and returns a record matching your vial's lot. A QR code is just a link — it can point anywhere, including a vendor-hosted page or a copied image. Check the domain it lands on and whether the lot shown matches the one printed on your vial.

Two failure modes are common. The code resolves to a page the vendor controls, which reproduces the certificate rather than verifying it. Or it resolves correctly but to a different lot than the one in your hand.
A genuine verification path has the laboratory as the authority: its domain, its record, its statement of what it measured and when.
Codes printed by whoever labelled the vial are only as trustworthy as the destination they carry you to.
