Can I trust a lab that publishes results selectively?
The short answer
The individual results can be perfectly sound while the public collection is systematically misleading. If publication is optional and the client decides, failing results are the ones least likely to appear — so the visible dataset skews positive without any single report being wrong. The problem is the sampling, not the science.

This distinction is worth holding precisely. Criticising a laboratory's measurements and criticising its publication policy are different claims, and only the second one applies here.
The effect compounds over time. A public listing built from client-approved results becomes a marketing surface, while the failures that would inform buyers stay private.
As of August 2026 the market leader operates client-controlled publication, which is documented on its own site. Our answer is the opposite default: publication of every result is a condition of testing, not an option.
