Why do peptide testing prices vary so much?
The short answer
Mostly volume, instrumentation and what a laboratory includes in its base price. A run on an existing method with an established standard costs little more than an operator's time; a new analyte requires method development and a standard purchase. Add-ons matter too — where raw data and second reports are chargeable, the real cost sits well above the headline.

Reference standards are a large and invisible cost. Pharmacopoeial standards are expensive, have limited shelf lives, and must be purchased for every analyte a laboratory offers.
Analyte volume then decides how that cost is spread. A peptide tested a hundred times a month absorbs its standard easily; one tested twice a year does not — which is why our specialty tier exists.
When comparing prices, compare the whole basket: base test, raw data, extra reports, rush and repeat vials.
