What is duplicate quantification?
The short answer
Duplicate quantification means the sample is prepared and measured twice, independently, and both results are reported. It exposes preparation error — the largest error source in peptide quantification — because two preparations that disagree reveal a problem a single measurement would hide. A lone unreplicated number gives you no way to judge its own reliability.
