How to test peptides, start to finish.
The short answer
To test a peptide: choose an independent laboratory, create and pay for the order, ship the unopened vial with the order number following the lab's instructions, and wait for the report — typically 2–14 days. A standard test measures chromatographic purity and quantity per vial; identity is presumptive unless mass spectrometry is included. Expect to pay roughly €99–$450 depending on lab and analyte.

Decide what question you are asking
- “Is the amount right?” → purity + quantification (the standard test).
- “Is it what the label says?” → identity. Presumptive ID comes standard; if the answer matters commercially, add MS confirmation.
- “Is it safe to handle as claimed?” → separate assays: endotoxin, sterility — not part of a standard purity test anywhere.
- “Which of several GLP-1s is this?” → a blind identification panel.

Choose the laboratory

Ship the sample in its original sealed vial where possible, padded, with the order number written on the package, using tracked shipping. Within the EU there are no customs steps; from outside, follow the lab’s declaration instructions exactly.

Read the report properly
Check four numbers, not one: purity (% of chromatogram area — and note it is chromatographic purity, not mass balance), quantity (mg per vial vs label claim), identity basis (retention-time match vs MS confirmation — the CoA should say which), and the method version. What one test cannot tell you
A test describes the vial you sent — not the batch it came from, not the vendor’s production, and not next month’s stock. Sequential batch testing, blind buys and split tests are how the community turns single data points into knowledge. Any laboratory that implies one passing vial certifies a whole operation is overselling.
